MCF Skydive 2021 is taking off

In 2020 Brother Dean Lynch, the fundraising fanatic and an avid skydiver, was planning a charitable skydive in Portugal; however, the event was postponed due to the global pandemic.

Fast forward to February 2021 when a Facebook post appeared “Manchester Level Club is organising a charity Skydive – Do you fancy it?”

That post prompted sixty Masons & Non-Masons to sign up for the event. The purpose of the event is to raise monies for charity, and all the funds raised by Freemasons will go directly to the Masonic Charitable Foundation (https://mcf.org.uk/). Non-Masons will choose a charity of their choice.

Our  Assistant Provincial Grand Master, WBro. Mark Davis will be leading from the front as he has signed up to leap with everyone – word has it that his wife is starting a fundraiser to push him out of the aircraft without a parachute!!!

All of the planning is in place to ensure that the event will be hugely enjoyable. After the skydiving, there will be a dinner and entertainment to ensure that everyone’s nerves are calmed and to celebrate the jumpers’ fantastic achievement

The Skydive will take place on the 14th of August (Covid restrictions allowing) at  Skydive Hibaldstow based in North Lincolnshire.

The closing line of the Facebook post stated, “We’ve been cooped up too long; now it’s time to spread our wings.”

It is pleasing to report a fantastic amount of money has been raised so far, and in the lead up to the event, we will post more news about the amazing people doing the Skydive and the charities that they are raising money in aid of.

Please keep looking out for updates, and as ever if you have any further queries regarding the event then please contact us at enquiries@manchestermasons.com or find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/mcrmasons/
