Tradition, getting together, Brotherhood. Freemasonry it’s all this and much more. Once a year the brethren of King Edward VII Lodge, travel down to Worksop in Nottinghamshire to visit a very special installation.
On Saturday the 2nd of May the K.E. VII Lodge, was visiting “Old Worksopians Lodge” no 6963 a school lodge associated with Worksop college, a boarding school that two members of King Edwards VII, WBro Barry Cuttle and WBro Phillip “Pip” Heyman attended when they were boys.
The event included many members and visitors, reaching 90 attendees, who had come from every part of United Kingdom.
Over the course of the meeting WBro Phillip Serth was installed into the chair of King Solomon, and all of his officers were installed for the ensuing year. Once all masonic business had concluded the lodge was closed it was time for the social board, but due to the large numbers of brethren, dinner was served at the college where a few of the members studied when they were young.
This gave everyone the opportunity to visit the schools chapel for a service before heading to the school’s grand hall for the social board, which was a night filled with good food, company and countless hilarious stories of what the brethren got up to in their school days.
Stories are made living our lives and memories are made to share, together, with new and old friends, always by our side, feeling the breeze of our youth tickling our fingers, for the sparkle of eternity shine through our smiles.
