It was a gloomy night in Manchester on Wednesday, 18th February, but spirits could not have been higher at Maccabee Lodge No 8947, nestled within Manchester Hall
Over 100 Brethren from far and wide came in numbers to see one of their own, Francesco, being installed into the Chair of King Solomon.
The Installing Master, WBro Lyle Davis, delivered the ceremony with remarkable precision. Word-perfect throughout, his confident, measured delivery held the attention of all present. Each phrase of the ritual was articulated with clarity and dignity, reminding everyone in attendance of the beauty and depth of the Craft. It was ritual at its finest—disciplined, sincere, and deeply moving.

As the ceremony progressed, Francesco carried himself with composure and humility. Those who have laboured alongside him in the Lodge office could see both pride and reflection in his expression.
When the moment came for him to take the Chair of King Solomon, the significance was palpable. The gavel was placed into his hand, and he ascended to the East under the watchful eyes of more than one hundred Brethren. The declaration of his installation was met with heartfelt applause and the traditional honours of the Craft, delivered with enthusiasm and warmth.

The festive board that followed was equally memorable. Laughter replaced solemnity, glasses were raised in toast, and speeches were delivered with both humour and affection. Visiting dignitaries praised the standard of the ceremony and the hospitality of Maccabee Lodge No 8947. It was clear that the Lodge had not only installed a new Master but had showcased its strength, harmony, and vitality.

Though the weather outside remained dark and damp, inside Manchester Hall, there was light—light in fellowship, light in tradition, and light in the promise of the year ahead.
