Three Brethren, One Shared Journey: A Special Evening at Caledonian Lodge No. 204
Caledonian Lodge No. 204 celebrated a particularly special evening in October 2026 as Bro. Laurence Wood, Bro. Manny Alam and Bro. Fiodor Kuberski were raised to the degree of Master Mason together.
Laurence was initiated in March 2026, while Manny and Fiodor were initiated together in April 2026. All three were then passed together in September 2026, before sharing their Third Degree the following month. Taking these steps alongside one another has made their progress especially meaningful, strengthening a friendship that was clearly evident throughout the evening.
Their close bond was plain to see in the Lodge room. There was a wonderful sense of companionship in the way they conducted themselves, and, at times, their answers to the questions were almost in unison. It was a small but memorable detail that reflected the friendship they have built and the experiences they have shared.
The evening had, however, begun with an unexpected challenge. A room change on the day meant preparing for the ceremony in a space around a third of the size of the usual Lodge room, and considerably smaller than the room used for rehearsals. With a triple Third Degree ceremony to accommodate, there was a flurry of activity as the Brethren worked to get everything ready before the meeting.
It was a demanding start, and one that brought out the best in Caledonian. The Brethren pulled together, helping with the preparations and adapting to the space available. There was a job to be done, and they got on with it together. That willingness to lend a hand, support one another and make the evening special for the three candidates showed exactly what Caledonian 204 is all about.
The smaller room certainly presented its challenges. Preparing and conducting a ceremony for three candidates in such restricted surroundings required care and flexibility, particularly when rehearsals had taken place in a very different setting. Those difficulties did nothing to diminish the significance of the occasion. If anything, the closer surroundings made the ceremony feel even more personal, adding another memorable chapter to the three Brethren’s shared story.
For the Lodge, there was great pride in seeing Laurence, Manny and Fiodor take this step together. Having shared both their passing and their raising, they now have lasting memories of these occasions to carry with them as they continue their Masonic journeys. Their Third Degree was made especially memorable by the fellowship around them and the efforts of the Brethren who helped bring the evening together.

It was a special night for Caledonian Lodge No. 204: an evening of friendship, determination and shared achievement, and one that Laurence, Manny and Fiodor will have every reason to remember with pride.
